Faith, Hope, and Love
"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." — Inspired by 1 Corinthians 13:13
On their wedding anniversary, Rodney and Trudy chose to forego the customary lavish dinner and expensive gifts. Amid their hectic schedules, what they desired most was a quiet evening at home with their family. As they prepared their favorite dish together, the kitchen was filled with laughter and playful banter. Dinner was a warm, family affair with their teenage sons, enriched with tales of their early days and the youthful adventures of their courtship.
Rodney recounted an amusing mishap from their first date, where Trudy had mistakenly gone to a different restaurant. "I was about to leave when I saw your mom, slightly embarrassed, standing in the doorway," he shared, a twinkle in his eye. Trudy chuckled, remembering, "You told me later that night that I had been worth the wait."
Sharing personal stories can profoundly comfort and secure your children. It doesn't matter the current state of your relationships; knowing their family's history and seeing how God has journeyed with you through various chapters provides them with invaluable stability and reassurance.
Prayer:
Lord, grant me the courage to share our family stories—the triumphs and the trials—with future generations. Show me how to illustrate Your profound influence on our lives and Your unwavering love through it all. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Blessings, Pastor Stephan
